Random Reads/Write compare between HHD vs SSD

Today multi-thread computing technology, the running OS has hundreds of running threads compete to read and write data across the disk, and another feature of OS is it uses the hard drive space for the OS swap files, called temporary random access memory. so specs of random reads/write of the drive defined how fast a the programs run.
This is general specs of random reads/writes between HHD and SSD
SATA SSD                                                                                     SATA HHD

Sequential Read : 718.498 MB/s                                                Sequential Read : 114.988 MB/s
Sequential Write : 777.414 MB/s                                                Sequential Write : 111.043 MB/s

Base on the number random reads/writes, SSD is much faster than HHD, another important point is drive vibration, and shock is not a factor in an SSD drive failure, because SSD drive has no mechanical moving parts.
If your PC/Laptop is the main force of your daily business, you should upgrade to SSD drive. Upgrading HHD to SSD is actually simple. You just visit shop.allogics.com to get the upgrade kit.

How to clone HHD to SSD?

  • For most, We, ALLOGICS, do not responsible your data lost due to your mistake.
If you confuse, you can always text to 9784069777, or email  support@allogics.com
You can get a HHD to SSD clone Utility kit from shop.allogics.com
  • Insert your new SSD drive to the 2.5″ hard drive enclosure, and insert the USB cable  to the USB 3.0 input Laptop/Desktop
  • Boot the Laptop/Desktop from the “Clone Utility” CD
  • At the first screen, click on CLONE –> Disk Clone
  • The next screen, click on the SOURCE DISK.  If you have only one running drive and the external USB SSD drive, disk0 is the source Drive, the current running SYSTEM/OS you want to clone to the SSD disk1. You can double check its size. My case it is 230 GB is my source disk. Then click “NEXT” to go to next screen.
  • This screen it asks you to choose the destination disk. It might be warning you if the DESTINATION DISK is a bootable drive. Then just click NEXT to next screen.
Again, you can check the destination disk size to make sure it is an SSD drive, that you want your source disk to clone to it.
  • This screen, The Clone Utilities warn you again that the DESTINATION DISK will be overwritten or deleted. This screen is your last chance to double check the DESTINATION DISK is the SSD that you want to clone to.
Always double check, make sure the source disk is your current OS that you want to clone to the SSD drive. We do not responsible your data lost because of your mistake.
  • This screen, checkbox align partition to optimized for SSD, and click on “Edit partitions on the destination disk”
  • This screen checkbox  “fit all partitions to entire disk. Then click “OK”
  • The process runs for awhile depending on how big is the source disk
  • Click Finish, turn off your PC, and swap your current drive to the new SSD drive to the Desktop/Laptop.
  • We hope you succeed drive cloning, and enjoy your faster PC.

The advantage of cloud backup.

  • Cost Effectiveness
This is the driving force behind the surge in the popularity of cloud storage. When you use a cloud storage service provider, you don’t have to own or maintain any of the hardware or software associated with backup storage. You simply pay a monthly fee (with no upfront investment) to store your data. The savings are substantial, right down to the power you don’t use to run hardware storage equipment.
  • Accessibility
Cloud platforms run on the internet. When you use cloud storage, you can access your data from any connected device, such as a desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet. Just log into your cloud account, and all your stored data is there.
  • Flexibility
Cloud storage systems are highly scalable. You can have as much or as little space as you need, and most providers allow you to add storage capacity on demand, so there’s no upgrade or rollout wait for increased storage.
  • Disaster Recovery
Because cloud storage is a remote backup solution, your data is safe in the event of an on-site catastrophe. Disaster recovery is also a much faster process, since there’s no physical equipment involved in getting the files back. (It’s vital to plan for disasters.

Unlimited protection                                       Unlimited External Drives
Hard Drive Restore Program

Compare two features, I prefer Backblaze, because Backblaze can backup your external drive. For example, you want to back up your valuable data, like Quickbook to the external drive, so your values data being backup to the cloud.

Cost

Carbonite                                                          Backblaze

$6/month/1 computer                                    $5/month/1 computer

This is my case, SSD hard drive is so expensive, so I run my Windows on a smaller fast SSD drive, and I map my Documents/Desktop/Pictures/Download folders on the second regular big space SATAIII drive. This way I don’t have to spend my hard work money on expensive bigger SSD drive, so I don’t like to use any backup that does not back up the external drive.
